Material Considerations

Common materials we process are:

  • Wood (plywood, basswood, balsa)

  • Acrylic (opaque/dark colours only)

  • EVA Foam

  • Cardboard, Foam Core, Cardstock

  • Leather

Laser Equipment

VCL currently uses a computer controlled, fixed focus, 10 Watt diode laser.

Typical material thickness we cut are between 3mm (1/8in) to 10mm (3/8in).

Engraving can be done on many different materials as long as they have a smooth, flat surface.

Ordering Considerations

  • Cutting/engraving MAX project size:
    400mm (15.75in) x 410mm (16in)

  • Material MAX thickness: 10mm (0.375in)

  • Cannot cut clear or semi translucent acrylics

  • Cannot engrave cylindrical or round objects
